Dr Elizabeth Farrelly is a weekly opinion columnist for the Sydney Morning Herald and an award-winning critic and author. She has engaged with Sydney as a writer, blogger, academic, City Councilor, designer, planning bureaucrat, cyclist and, most importantly, a human who loves cities. With a background across philosophy, literature, science, city planning and architecture, Farrelly has written several books, fiction and non-fiction, as well as countless book-chapters and articles in several countries and is a regular public speaker and broadcaster. She is currently building an off-grid dwelling in rural NSW. Her latest book, KILLING SYDNEY, was due out in April 2020 (and is now due some time later).
